Folks,
I gotta say I feel a little guilty. This post is going to serve as a little therapy for me.
I have been a long-term bull on RMBS for over a year and a half. A real big RMBS bull, in fact. I've accumulated lots and lots of shares. I even got my in-laws in RMBS.
Yesterday I sold all of my shares. I never thought I would sell. I figured I would hold on to RMBS for years..and why not, as the stock was destined to become another AOL, DELL, CSCO, MSFT, QCOM, etc. But I did sell.
I felt like SH*T doing it, but the writing really is on the wall. Just look at the price differential vs. the performance. Answer this question...as a new PC buyer, would you rather have 128 megs. of SDRAM, or 64 megs of RDRAM in your shiny new desktop? I'll take the 128 for the same price, thank you. Sure the price will come down, but can it happen fast enough? Intel has backed off hard on RMBS. OEM's are frustrated. Other memory solutions are looking like a better value all the time.
I had bad dreams last night as a result of selling RMBS. No kidding, I actually dreamt crazy things about it.
But, I was getting married to this stock. And they say "never get married to a stock."
I was at the alter about to say my vows. The question was asked, "is there anyone here that thinks this marriage should not happen speak now, or forever hold your peace," I spoke. (I spoke with that sell button.)
Just in time, I think.
