The Judge Posner thing is indeed a very positive development, but I'm still deeply pessimistic that the case can be settled. The government lawyers don't seem like reasonable people to me. On a negative note, the judge requested that Lawrence Lessig submit advice. Lawrence Lessig is a rabid Microsoft-hater who constructs elaborate fantasies (e.g. IE deleted my Netscape icons!) and then discusses them with Netscape lawyers. Gee, I wonder what he will say?
