Hello PJ,

Wow ... a lot of posts while I was out at Comdex ... and a little bit of stock movement ...

Likewise! I hear that new features might be coming ...

MyRealBox is a very good demonstration of the capabilites of some of the folks at Novell ... I too am using it extensively. I really like the fact that you can see changes to this site and product, almost on a weekly basis ... for a while there is was cool to see the evolution. There are still a couple of features that I'd like to see, but it's working well!

Numerous! I'll wait to see how the instant messaging market is addressed. There is a huge amount that can be done in this space. I'm very interested to see what the AOL relationship produces. I'm not a big fan of massive centralized systems, and I think that the real successful product in this space will be one that is extremely distributed and decentalized ... these are key architectural requirements for true privacy, security, and trust ... IMHO.

I believe that successful projects of this type will rely on vast distributed communites of people who will "vote" or "rate" the sources of "spam", and that you will be able to select the communities that you will use to refuse mail from "spam" (or other) sources. I call this the "delegation of authority" where I will delegate one or more "communities" of people (where I might be a voting member also) to help make decisions for me ... all in my control. I do believe that a directory is a good solution for storing these relationships and more ...

No longer! The NIMS product is a full "ground-up" product developed in house by a very good team of people, led by the vision and action of a good engineer ... and supported by some good people in management. MyRealBox is the real Internet demonstration of this technology! The Netscape mail stuff ... I'm pretty sure ... is not in shipping product ...
