Oh, yeah, how could I forget Maria. I may be getting defensive re CNBC here, below, but it does provide a source of fast breaking, or just-in news. Examples in the last year:
1. Infamous interview (if you owned Intel) with Dan Niles yelling 'sell' (7/99).
2. Microsoft FOF 2 weeks ago.
3. Appointment on mediator betw. Microsoft and gummint, today.
4. Good stuff like live interviews with James Morgan, AMAT, who always lifts my mood about semiconductor stocks' prospects. MANY other CEOs, COOs, CFOs, etc. on who may say things that, if you listen closely, you won't get in prepared statements. Like insider info.
5. Premarket ticker prices bottom of screen in off-white peach (trying to ID the color) that ALWAYS portend opening prices.
6. I like the humor among Kernen, Haines, Faber and whoever the guest analyst is for the early hour or two. AND they get out a lot of data and opinions, BION. Battapaglia is on frequently. Perma-bull, but tell me when he's been wrong, except on an occasional stock call.
Not going for a Letterman top ten (enough).
Sure, CNBC has its faults, especially, to me, after the early hours, but who doesn't?
