Except for prototyping, reprogrammibility offers no practical advantage. In any kind of volume, the design is fixed and most manufacturing operations cannot take advantage of this feature. The added level of sophistication required to take advantage of this feature set is simply not present in most target applications.

For products in the development stage, this is a very useful feature, but unfortunatly the revenues are small due to such small volume. Therfore this is a very small niche and larger volume design wins will quickly move to a more cost effective solution.
