Robin, The only investments I have made lately is ASDL technology. Amati and Westell are the two stocks. Don't feel bad, I am still holding on the MU. I am sure most of us high tech investors have a stock like this, some are not willing to admit failures to see into the future. I think AMAT is a known stock on the street and is better analyzed by money managers than other equipment makers. I know the growth fund at Merrill Lynch holds a large position in AMAT and this keeps the stock from making these big swings.

A thought on 1996, the money manager for my high tech fund, Merrill Lynch Technology fund, is heavily weighted in communications stocks. He, last quarter took large positions in the larger communications equipment companies. The reasons he gave for this was the recent large growth he observed in their year over year revenues and profits.
