DTPI: The CEO's Guide to e-Business--Initiating Research Co-Strong Buy
HIGHLIGHTS:
- We are initiating research coverage of Diamond Technology Partners, Inc. with
a STRONG BUY rating on the shares.

- Diamond is a management consultancy that blends strategy consulting with IT
advisory and management services. In July, the Company announced its new
implementation service, DMS, which has accelerated its growth rate.

- We believe the market for IT services, and in particular, interactive
integration services, is increasingly moving towards Diamond's core strengths
as companies require executive-level consulting services to help them architect
new business models under a new e-business paradigm. In our view, Diamond is
increasingly becoming the "CEO's guide to e-business."

- Diamond exhibits some of the best financial and operating metrics within the
entire sector, in our view, which is a function of the Company's strong
management and solid corporate culture. We note the Company has produced
nearly 40% revenue growth, quarter-after-quarter, since going public in 1997.

- We note the 8.5x trading multiple to our CY2000 revenue estimate, which we
think is an attractive valuation compared with the 13-14x median for the
interactive integrator sector and 20x plus trading multiple for most of the
leaders. We note that Diamond is not a pure-play interactive integrator but it
is successfully migrating the transition.

- Our 12-month price target of $82 is based on the stock maintaining an 8.5x-9x
revenue multiple and reflecting a 50% top-line growth rate. >>
