Any thoughts on the Sybase announcement. Sybase looks to be a big player in e-commerce. This is what asia internet has to say about the agreement.

[November 19, 1999--HONG KONG] US$867.5 million Sybase, Inc. has signed an agreement with Hong Kong-based First Ecom.com to access the company's e-payment solution for its customers.

Under the agreement, Sybase (NASDAQ:SYBS) will have access to the First Ecom.com e-payment processing solution, effectively allowing First Ecom.com's gateway to become the default e-payment processing system for Sybase customers.

"E-commerce is gaining momentum throughout Asia. Companies are increasingly turning to technology providers and consultants such as Sybase for recommendations on e-commerce and e-payments," said Gregory Pek, president and CEO of First Ecom.com (NASD OTC BB:FECC).

First Ecom.com hopes that the agreement will increase its market penetration in Asia by providing Internet payment processing services to Sybase's clients, mostly large financial services companies.
