So...

1) Felderhoff's announcement to shareholders at the annual meeting that there's more than 100+ forces Walsh to issue a press release to say that this is NOT official.

so, it only makes sense that...

2) Based on Freeport's drilling-and their chat with Strathcona-Walsh sees that he has to cover the company's exposure to possible lawsuits by issuing that statement as soon as possible. He probably expected there'd be a some stock gyrations, but didn't add deGuzman's death to the equation.

I think you'd have to have a seeing ball to have divined what a circus this has all become!!
