Hi Bill Jackson; Re vertical integration... I agree that VIA is going to be beautifully vertically integrated, and that will be tough on their competitors, but I don't agree that DELL is going to pick up market share. DELL doesn't have any processor business. For years, DELL has called itself "virtually" vertically integrated. What actually happened is that they pushed the unprofitable parts of the business (like making disk drives) onto other companies. This is a useful thing to do only as long as technology is moving so quickly that the most competitive disk drive companies keep changing, or driving prices down. When things stabilize, the advantage returns to companies that are truly vertically integrated, just as it always has in the past. -- Carl P.S. I guess I should admit that I sold the last of my AMD Friday, and am now out of it. It was a happy trade. I still think the stock is going up, over the next six months, and if I can get another chance to buy it cheaply, I will do so.
