They thought that they would be the 'poster child' for all PC problems, even though they sold very few of the application programs.

Well! That's certainly encouraging. I was firmly of the belief that they were just so full of their own PR that they have failed to see that they are also a prisoner of their success. To the man-in-the-street Microsoft = PC.

I think I'll extend my little 4 question quiz...
(1) - Who's the Chairman of Microsoft?
(2) - Who's the Chairman of IBM?
(3) - What are MSFT's revenues?
(4) - What are IBM's revenues?

(5) - Do you know the difference between an operating system and an application?

BTW... very, very few folks can get to #2, and EVERYONE is astonished that IBM is 4x the revenues of MSFT.
