Doug,

I didn't follow everything in your post, and maybe Stew or others can help out, but I would like to respond to what I think might have been one of your conclusions:

So I'm just guessing that we will not have an industry standard until the IPG's become available, Until the standard is established, and Tornado's, the whole thing will be a mess and no "significant" revs will be realized.

I'm not sure how long it will take for the significant revenues to roll in, other than that I'm confident it will take a lot longer than I prefer. :)

Regarding the issue of the standard, Gemstar would tell us that the industry has already adopted a standard -- Gemstar's. That's why Gemstar is vigilant in its pursuit of protecting its IPR. Gemstar would and has told us that the EPGs in the set-top boxes are using their patented technologies. You probably remember that in the case of the analog boxes, the arbiter has already ruled that Gemstar is accurate about that.

I hope I responded to the essence of your post. If not, run it by me again, but get Stew involved so he can help us out. :)
