GRC, Are you saying now that ANY download on the net is covered under the patent?? I thought there had to be some kind of payment involved. If something is FREE where does the PAYMENT come into play?

Not to be rude (seriously), but I thought you had some pretty good insight in previous posts. But to assume that even a free download would be covered, would mean that just about every site/company/org on the internet would be liable, since everytime anyone visits any site something is saved (cached) on their hard drive. While I am sure that this would excite any holder of GIFT, were it true, it certainly is a stretch of the imagination/patent.

>Does anyone know if MSFT was sued. They must have downloaded a huge number of programs, including EXPLORER. The fact that they GIVE THEM AWAY still doesn't excuse them from infringement. They would still have to pay a royalty.
