Thanks much for the reply. I've seen the referenced URL and a had a different recollection that I had seen somewhere else 5 miles, but perhaps I was mistaken. Your points are well taken, and copper attenuation may be affected by number of splices, quality of splices, etc.. not to mention the quality of the twist. However, I'm an old-fashioned kind of person, I like to know what larger scale field trials show. So with that in mind I was asking whether there was anything coming directly from the trials by GTE in either Washington or Texas. I check the GTE and BA web sites periodically to see if they report anything.
