Dharles, I couldn't agree with you more. The issue about owning MSFT today IS all about "risk". Or at least a balancing of "risk" and "reward". if you own the Dow, you own MSFT. If you own an S&P fund, you own MSFT. Heck, just about anyone with an IRA or a 401K owns MSFT.

A lot of people have said that the best time to buy a stock is when all the news is bad and everyone hates it. Well .. I ask you ... what could be worse for MSFT than what happened last week?

It will be at least until next year before the news could possibly be worse and, in the meantime, I have a basis of near-zilch in MSFT shares and the taxman would LOVE it is I sold on such news.

You can do whatever you please but I'm happy to wait and see what happens after the pseudo-settlement conferences, the initial court ruling, MSFT appeals, the suit goes to Federal appelate court, MSFT appeals, and the suit goes to the Supreme Court.

By then, I'll be collecting Social Security. And, if Big Bill has his way, today's Pockemon generation will also be collecting SSI benefits before this case is settled.
