Tony,

Buck Rogers solutions like quantum mechanics

The assumption I am currently using is that AMAT will play a major role in whatever technology replaces silicon based IC's. They have the expertise from all these years; I would think that is highly transferrable. Additionally, they almost would have to be a part of any move since the move would need to be gradual. I could not envision a company like Intel or TSMC making the leap into new technologies until it is proven. There is much invested in current technology- that goes without saying.

We are getting to the point where Buck Rogers solutions may be necessary, but then again the engineers have found ways around problems when the "experts" said the "wall" would be hit in the late 90's a decade ago.

Regards,

Brian
