Interesting article about partitioning.
Before making changes, be sure that the reason(s) the disk was divided into partitions in the first place have changed. The article seems to imply that many BIG disks were partitioned because file systems in use then couldn't use them any other way, and now that modern operating systems (Win 95(2) & Win98) can accommodate BIG disks, we should discard multiple partitioning. This is true if we no longer have a reason (or desire) to continue using a multiply partitioned disk.
Many of us would prefer one BIG disk. Now we know how to get one. Likewise, many of us divide our thoughts, work, attention, and data, and would prefer our disks to remain divided so it matches our workstyle. Your post points us to a method of achieving a single BIG disk, and for those who want this, it's invaluable. I want to remind us that this may not be the best configuration for everyone and it may be best to review how we prefer to work before changing our disk.
Now that we have choices, it's time to choose.
