MikeBuckley. Well, If GMST's IP doesn't prevent:
1)Web sites from massaging TV program data any way they want. Witness:YAHOO--http://tv.yahoo.com/yahoo/listings/tv1.dpg?chanArea=TN41479&daypart=Now&genres=All+Categories&channel=All+Channels&x=32&y=4 2)Web site transmitting data set=(channel, time, date)to merged PC w/ a TV feature
3)Merged TV w/TV feature using data set to tune TV to data set
3)Merged TV passing data set to VCR w/a "record message"
4)Merged TV builders eliminating set top box and just incorporating some digital filter into the TV.

Then, It appears to me that the Merged TV/PC builders can design an excellent Internet/PC w/ TV feature W/O GMST IP and avoid royalties and harrassing the viewers w/ GMST's advertising.

So the question then becomes. Is it in the best interest on the merged PC/TV/internet appliance makers to build these devices. Is there some reason why they will profit more if they mess with GMST's IP?
