GIST COMMUNICATIONS, INC. ENTERS LICENSING AGREEMENT FOR ITS ONLINE TV LISTINGS TECHNOLOGY
NEW YORK, NY, Oct. 8, 1996 -- GIST Communications, Inc. announced today that it has licensed its online television listings technology to NBC, as well as Compuserve, and is currently in negotiations to provide localized listings for several city guides. The announcement was made by Jonathan Greenberg, CEO, GIST Communications, Inc. Based on GIST Communications' TV1 listings (http://www.TV1.com), the television listing technology will be used for NBC's entertainment home page (http://www.NBC.com/entertainment).
The technology enables NBC to give its site visitors a listing of all NBC programming, showing what day of the week and times the programs are aired, in addition to hot links to NBC shows, and in-depth information about each program and its stars. The guide can be reached by clicking on the TV Schedule listing on the NBC Entertainment home page.
