Yeah John, it's a great time for SGI to deal with some basics. Kevin Turesky just emailed me that he will start briefing A/W's user community before shows and announcements, through the lists, a real start on stomping out rumors. and SGI seems to be listning to software vendors about issues like the minimum amount of texture memory today being 16 megs if you want to do film or video work(will ATV raise this?). and i'm hearing that the 275 mhz R 10Ks are comming along. it's great how at bottom, SGI opens up and listens. i'm buying a few more SGI boxes (impacts and then 0200s) because for what i do there is nothing else even close to useable. because of this dependant position, one has to voice up, or be stuck with crap concocted by "marketing". i think your chart formatting of real world return is of real value to anyone who has to choose what's next. if you want to prepare a posting and i'll put it up or you could just post what you will to ALIAS-L i'm shure it would be appreciated. if you don't have my address it's amplexis@epix.net be well, vincent
