SATYAM Infoway celebrated the enlisting of one lakh subscribers for its Internet services, coinciding with the completion of one month of listing at Nasdaq at the Satyam Technology Centre here.
At the event, which was graced by Mr. Patrick Smith, a representative from Nasdaq, and the Nasscom President, Mr. Dewang Mehta, among others, Satyam showcased its technological capabilities featuring the competencies of its various business units such as software product development, ERP solutions, telecom, Internet technology and e-commerce innovations.
It may be recalled that Satyam Infoway became the first Indian Internet company to get listed on the Nasdaq last month. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, felicitated the one-hundred-thousandth Satyam Infoway customer, Ms. Mayuri Mehrotra, who hails from Lucknow.
Mr. Naidu, while complimenting Satyam Infoway and its team for becoming first Indian Internet company to get Nasdaq listing, said there was a need to use IT to its fullest potential to create a knowledge society. He wanted the State to become an ideal IT-led State and a model for the Nation.
The Chairman, Satyam Computer Services, Mr. B. Ramalinga Raju, said it was a proud moment to have notched up two impressive successes _ the Nasdaq listing and one-hundred thousandth customer. He said this showed what 5,000 people with the right vision, orientation and hardwork could achieve.
Mr. Raju said the Internet would play an increasingly significant role, and the speed of fusion of IT and bio-technology would be a reality and the Web would be the ultimate knowledge pool.
The Managing Director, Satyam Infoway, Mr. R. Ramaraj, said Satyam Infoway would continually strive to keep the faith that everyone, from the global investor to the Indian customer, had reposed in the company. ``The Nasdaq platform, which gave a global perspective to our business, is just the beginning. We will maintain and excel in providing high levels of performance and customer satisfaction,' he said. |
