To all you copper aficionados:

Can anyone give me a sense of copper prices, i.e. what they are now, what they might be in a year...? Any hopes of them going up?

Tiomin is sitting on a huge deposit in Chile and are claiming a very low cost for production which will in all likelihood be scheduled soon after the current full feasibility study is complete (they have paid a $3 million progress fee to the Chilean gov't already). There isn't much action on the TIO thread so I thought I would ask if anyone had any expertise in this. Tiomin warrants are trading dirt cheap right now, thanks to this mess we're all in these days. Might be able to make a huge killing on those especially if you wade in the day after Bre-X announces no gold...could be time to scoop up some real bargains on solid companies with proven reserves.

Thoughts, anyone? I don't know much about the economics of copper mining, or about world supply and demand, except that commodity prices of some kinds can heat up towards the end of an economic expansion. Surely copper will be in demand as developing countries upgrade their infrastructure.
