IMO, the reason is Y2K. The FED fears a possible panic by J6P, so what to do. Jack up the market by flooding it with funny money. That makes J6P less likely to take his/her money out with daily 1% gains on the indices. ufb

Maybe Y2K comes and goes without a problem and the FED drains slowly and the bull lives, but what happens if they miscalculate and Y2K isn't the dud everyone thinks it will be. Possible disruptions in the supply chain combined with more funny money floating around than you can shake a stick at makes for a very sticky situation. Got Gold???

i still don't know WTF they're doing this for...as if this market needed any more goosing....
