Viva Las Piffer!!!!
Friday I drove out from L.A. and arrived at 6:30pm. Just in time for the meeting in the Betty Boop bar. Here is who showed up: Tom Dorsey Dennis J Trent (Dennis' son) Carolyn F. Neenny Ms. X MPH Mr. MPH OG Lost1 Lostwife JXM Arno Arnowife Surprise guest appearance by Jeff Jordon X-Joe-O Dr. Logics
Friday night from the POV of JXM involved a bit of socializing, lots of craps and a bit of eating.
I was given lots of grief for looking like trailer trash in my Federated Bowling shirt. Didn't everyone realize that I was a part of an elite pit crew????
Saturday JXM, OG, Joe, Lost1 and arno meet for breakfast.
Then the duffers made their way to the "Badlands" golf course. Arrgggghhhhh! The golf course was named aptly. Damn, it was a tough one. Safe to say that it is clear to me by their games that Joe and Lost1 are slackers that need to learn how to become productive members of society rather than pursuers of frivolous pastimes. They may claim to have won, but should we really reward such slackers. I say "NO!". Instead, we should reward those that are clearly more productive in the real world and that don't have time to work on their golf game to the point where they have respectable golf scores on the Badlands course. And where OG's golf score wasn't quite as embarrassing as Lost1's and Joe's, it is clear to me that he too is spending too many working hours on the fairways. I think that the only morally proper approach to rewarding the golf games is to base it on true productivity in the real world and therefore, he who has the highest score wins the game and the per hole betting should not be on the lowest number of strokes, but the highest. Same with the par 3 green shots, whoever was farthest from the greens, should win. And then there was the PhotoChick.
Back to the hotel where I ran into Neenny on the elevator. She was still a bit mellow from the trip to the spa. Carolyn later mentioned that there were a lot of nude women at the spa...Damn, I knew that we made the wrong decision by playing golf<g>.
Back to the Betty Boop bar and then to dinner at the Brown Derby. I had the mushroom souffle.
Then to the Jay Leno show. The opening act was AJ Croce and Band. They were great! Leno was booooorrrrrriiiiiinnnnnngggggggg. Seems like he grabbed the joke lists from years gone by. Monica Lewinsky jokes are passe', OJ jokes or just plain old news, Menendez brothers jokes, Jeffrey Dahmer jokes...sheesh, get with the times Jay. The only timely jokes were the airplane crash jokes and they were simply in bad taste. Carolyn and I were sitting behind the main crowd and we both nodded off during the show. Carolyn left early and I followed 5 minutes later.
Then we played craps.
Oh Wait!!! I forgot something, six of us put in $100 each for a pull on the $500 slot machine. This meant that we had 1 pull on the $100 slot and then 1 pull on the $500 slot. We did the $100 slot first. 1 CHERRY!!!! We won $200!!!!! Then to the $500 slot......drum roll please.....Jan puts in the $500 token........Dorsey presses the button.......BAR.....Double BAR.....BAR!!!!!! $2500....The crowd goes wild!!!!!! Wooo Woooo Wooooo!!!!!!
Sunday Breakfast and CRAPS!!!!
I was on a losing streak until Neenny got ahold of the dice.....30 minute roll!!! Go Neenny, Go!!!! Then I got the dice, 15 minute roll!!!!!! Go Jorj, Go!!!! Then Neenny again, Yes!!!! she hits the number 3 times again as well as a few hardways!!!! Neenny was the Princess of the Craps Table.
Last meeting in the Betty Boop bar where we met Neenny's college roomie. I took of at 1:00pm for the drive home and got a good night's rest. JXM
