Chuck,

<AMD Athlon Processor Chosen as Recommended Processor for High-speed Cable Online Service >

This news on almost any reasonably followed stock would have gotten a decent pop today. The stock price shows how little momentum is behind AMD right now.

I had no idea how significant this was because I was not unaware of Roadrunner online service connection to Time warner until I received this by PM (thanks to Az):

Living in a town where Road Runner is very prevalent I've seen quite a few of these commercials already in the last 7-10 days. I was really curious about why they kept showing the Athlon logo on all their commercials. Time Warner will have tons of advertising for their cable access(after all it is their network) and now AMD get's a little piece of all of that. This is a huge announcement, IMO. Everyone is wanting to get cable access for their computers and I can't go a day without hearing these ads on the radio or seeing them on TV. It's about time everyone gets to know about the Athlon.

This in conjunction with the new commercial should help the popularity of the Athlon quite a bit.

I wonder how aggressive this company is in signing up new subscribers. How many of these new subscribers will be needing to buy new computers, and at the same time go with the recommendation of this service provider? I think, AMD's intention here was to get the word out about Athlon through Time Warner.
