Teflon & Thread,

I am a lurker with a question. Thanks to you all, I am currently holding 3 stocks in IRA accounts. They are AOL(30%), QCOM(30%) and GMST(40%).

For reasons I don't want to get into, I am planning on converting these to a Roth IRA and need to liquidate a portion of my portfolio (approx 20%) to cover taxes. (I know the entire portfolio will be subject to ordinary income taxes, and the amount utilized for taxes will be subject to an ADDITIONAL TAX PENALTY OF 10%.......not my question)

My question is ..........Which one do I sell, or do I liquidate a portion of each? I was thinking that I will hold GMST and QCOM and liquidate 70% of the AOL position. I was planning on waiting for an AOL rally, I think it can get to $90 post split in the very near future.

Curious what people would do in my position.......Stock wise. I need to accomplish this by the end of 1999.

Thanks

Ender.
