*I am banking on a takeover/sale.
Take-overs involve lots of hype --- if you're the last one in any given "wave," you'll learn what it means to take air.

*I don't know when that will occur.
Those with less patience will take money off the table when not instantly gratified. In other words, you'll be given many opportunities both ways.

*Could be any time.
Stanford Telecom acquisition most likely will have to close first.

*Thus have to remain fully invested all the time.
In your humble opinion.

*The sooner the better, for many reasons, the main one
being it will significantly cut my Maalox bill.

I suggest switching to Valium.

*I don't use options but you could use those if you want to.
Bad advice except for pros.

* I am now looking to adding to my position.
Take Valium first.

* I will add between 21.5 and 22.
See above.

*Downside risk to 20= ~ 25%, to 19=~15%, to 17=~10%
and to 14=~5%.

And if you're on margin?????

I have 30% of extra cash available to buy more all the way down to 14-17% if Alan G. has a bad day!!
Why not wait for it to get there?

*my hope is to increase the very large position I have
by about 25%.

See above.

*I will start daytrading after I get a better feel for
the stock.

You're not already????

*I hope for my daytrades to be profitable and provide all
the cash needed to hedge against all future risk.

Interesting investment strategy.

* I think NN is a win-win situation:all I need to look at is -CSCO paying 6.5 bill for Stratacom= money down a rat hole. -LU paying 20 bill for ASND a 2nd tier ATM.
-sale of FORE.

Has Cisco commented on NN --- or ATM, for that matter? Recent comments have referred to fiber optics acquisitions.

I believe NN will be sold. I just don't think it's going to happen over night. The current strength can be attributed to Canadian analysts and journalists fanning take-out flames.

For those who didn't follow Ascend's take-out history, I suggest you go back and follow their stock in the 12 months preceding the LU buyout. If acquisitions were as simple as you and a few others would like to believe, COMS and CS would have been taken out months --- if not years --- ago.

Brought to you by the committee for moderate use of exclamatories. :))
