Why would IBM take a 30% stake in Dell? For the sake of argument, say: 1. IBM thinks Dell is a good investment at these prices (they agree with most people on this thread). 2. IBM plans to out source it's all it's PC and Intel based server fulfillment to Dell, and knows the value of that business at Dell's cost basis. Would it make sense for IBM to take a stake? John
