Rare Medium Earns Top London International Advertising Award for Design WorkOn Starbright Foundation Web Site
DALLAS, Nov. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Rare Medium Inc., the Web consulting services arm of Rare Medium Group Inc. (Nasdaq: RRRR), received top recognition for its design work on the Starbright Foundation web site, adding to the two prestigious awards it received earlier this month for work on this project.
The 14th annual London International Advertising Awards (LIAA) selected Rare Medium as Winner in the not-for-profit category for interactive work, based on creativity, concept, execution, functionality, interactivity and overall impact by the most highly recognized professionals in their disciplines. The award's ceremony took place on November 15, 1999 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
"Rare Medium is honored to receive the London International Advertising Award and we are very proud of our work with the Starbright Foundation. This award is a testament to the fact that the Internet is international. Impediments to doing business across all borders have been virtually eliminated with the growth of the World Wide Web," said Dan Roddy, senior vice president and general manager of Rare Medium's Los Angeles office.
The LIAA is the world's largest competition of its kind, with 17,266 entries this year, from 84 countries. This was the second year LIAA included Internet categories, one of the fastest-growing categories with more than 630 entries. Judges selected less than 1 percent of all entries to receive recognition including other Rare Medium finalists TiVo, Prographics and Equity Marketing.
Additionally, on November 4, 1999, Rare Medium received the Silver Award in the not-for-profit category for excellence in Internet communication for the healthcare industry from eHealthcareWorld Awards. The not-for-profit category recognizes the top web site created by an association or organization to meet the information, education, public policy and community needs of its constituents. This year's winners were selected based on objectives, results, content, style, interface and breakthrough impact.
