Mr. Ted Power reports
CompuSoft Canada Inc. has signed an agreement with North America's leading distributor of metals, Ryerson Tull Inc. (www.ryersontull.com). The contract is valued at nearly $1-million for the implementation of TraceAbility software and related services at 41 of the company's nearly 70 plants.
Beyond the revenue generated by this agreement, the company believes that this decision by Ryerson Tull Inc. lends significant credibility to CompuSoft Canada Inc., its technology and its people. "Adding the industry leader to our client list certainly positions us in achieving our goal of becoming the metals industry standard," said Ted Power, CompuSoft's chairman. "Ryerson Tull is closely watched by the industry and their strategic purchase is likely to be replicated throughout the industry."
Ryerson Tull is North America's leading distributor and processor of metals, with 1998 annual sales of $2.8-billion (U.S.). The company has a network of nearly 70 plants across the United States and Canada. Through joint ventures, the company operates service centres in Mexico and Asia and maintains metals trading capabilities throughout the world. In February, 1999, Ryerson Tull merged with Inland Steel Industries, becoming an independent publicly traded company.
The TraceAbility solution series is a unique software technology specifically designed for managing the quality assurance documentation of metals industry clients engaged in distribution, and/or fabrication. CompuSoft management estimates that the market for TraceAbility, TraceAbility Online and related services in the United States and Canada is 31,000 installs, equalling approximately $1-billion. A self-running demonstration of TraceAbility and letters of reference from satisfied customers are available on the CompuSoft Canada Inc. Web site at www.compusoftware.com.
