The FCC isn't going to get anyone to move any faster than they are at present. All the CLEC's are going for the same market that the telcos want-high density markets

Dinnnggggggggggggg. Wrong. 5 Point penalty repeat the question for the opposing team:

John:

There are 40 clecs and Isps in your area that don't earn (net!) two hundred million dollars a month that your Baby Bell does. They will be installing equipment in your local C/O (the local loop switch that is within five miles of your home) within the month.

The clecs already have fought for and obtained the right under "the telecommunications act" to install the equipment at the c/o.

Assuming your RBOC doesn't try to delay the rule in court you will have dsl in a month. Check the local news papers.

Plus, watch the distance limitation magically disappear.

And unless you have noticed your tv guys laying 'digital' cable outside your house in the last year, you can kiss off cable service for a long time. (digital transmission does not work with the cable that is now powering your I Love Lucy reruns)

. This is all economics

It is NOW all economics, it WAS monopolistic protectionism.
