NAMPA, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 22, 1999--Micron
Electronics, Inc. (Nasdaq:MUEI) (www.micronpc.com) today announced
that it earned 13th place in the first ever "Inter@ctive Week Internet
500" -- placing it in an elite class of Internet pioneers along with
Intel, Cisco, AOL and Amazon.com.
Based on revenues generated by online operations, the company
cracked the Top 20 out of 2,500 companies researched by Inter@ctive
Week, Ernst & Young and The Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

customers who researched, configured or purchased products online.
Under its "Subscription Computing" program, micronpc.com has
emerged as a leading Web hosting and E-services provider. The Top 15
in the Internet 500 also included such high-tech heavyweights as:
Intel, Cisco Systems, United Parcels Service, America Online, Arrow
Electronics and Amazon.com.
"Our online operations are very strong and growing every day with
the launch of Subscription Computing, and the recent acquisitions of
HostPro and Micron Internet Services," said Joel Kocher, chairman and
CEO of Micron Electronics. "The Internet 500 ranking is a strong
indication that our hosting and e-services strategy is the correct
strategy for us to pursue to meet the needs of our customers and to
position us among the Internet elite."

About the Inter@ctive Week Internet 500

The Internet 500 is Inter@ctive Week's study of E-commerce
companies, conducted with Ernst & Young and The Massachusetts
Institute for Technology. It is the first ever ranking of the top 500
businesses by their revenue generated from online operations. The
study looked at 2,500 companies that do business online and looked at
the revenue from online sales and then ranked them by online revenue.
As part of the study CIOs, E-commerce executives and interactive
mangers at targeted companies were also surveyed to determine online
sales, revenues and profits. Out of the study came the first ever
Inter@ctive Week Internet 500.
