Sure. Cisco/Intel would argue that a merger would result in numerous benefits to the consumer. The costs of network gear would certainly decline, and continue to decline for the foreseeable future. At the same time network equipment performance would increase. Look what standardization, manufacturing prowess, high yields, etc.. have done to CPU price/performance over the years. The same would happen to hubs and routers. This would help, not hurt the consumers of the internet age

Would the FTC/DOJ be opposed to a merger that would greatly benefit the consumer?
