Anyone care to speculate that DOJ and FTC would find a INTC-CSCO merger would "tend substantially to lessen competition or create a monopoly?"
Such a merger would not be permitted under DOJ guidelines, and becomes less and less likely as Intel increases market share in small firm and home networking (which Cisco neglects).
Far better for Intel to spin-off its networking business and IPO it -- making a focused networking company with a very high P/S (which could then acquire AMD), and a concentrated PC/Server company which could acquire SUNW. Mini-Microsoft 1 could acquire the PC company, and Mini-Microsoft 2 could acquire Nortel, and LU could acquire AT&T.
