Our patience has rewarded us once again. . . . VNCI NEWS: VNCI Announces Implementation of Its Video Network Technology by Major Medical Equipment Manufacturer; VidPhone Technology Enhances Medical Supplier Communications Network

PORTSMOUTH, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 23, 1999--Video Network Communications, Inc. (VNCI) today announced expanding adoption of the Company's real-time, TV quality video network technology in the medical marketplace. Building off their success in a clinical setting, the Company, in partnership with one of its reseller channel partners, is installing VidPhone systems to support a major medical equipment manufacturer. The customer, a medical device manufacturer, has purchased five VidPhone systems that will connect fifty-four stations, comprised of a combination of individual desktops and conference rooms. They expect to use video in many ways to dramatically increase the effectiveness of communications among various facilities in several locations. The VNCI systems are comprehensive video networks that provide distribution of broadcast video, retrieval of stored video and face-to-face interpersonal communications.

The customer is recognized as a world leader in the manufacture of surgical instruments used for minimally invasive endoscopic surgical procedures. The VNCI video communications network will be delivering video content across geographically dispersed divisions in the continental United States and Latin America.

"High quality, crisp video was the number one requirement when discussing potential video communications solutions in a medical context. The VNCI solution, networked internally over existing phone lines, not only offered superior full motion video transmission but was also evaluated as being the easiest to install and operate. We at VNCI are excited about this relationship, and look forward to supporting increased video distribution requirements as our customer expands the use of video in mission critical applications," said Carl Muscari, President of VNCI. "This is another milestone for VNCI as we continue our expansion in the medical community."

VNCI's video network technology is successfully enhancing communications in clinical situations such as the Cole Eye Institute of the Cleveland Clinic, where three VidPhone systems have been installed for some time.
