Delphi to Buy Lucas Diesel Unit From TRW

TROY, Mich. (Reuters) - Delphi Automotive Systems Corp. (NYSE:DPH - news) said on Tuesday it will buy Lucas Diesel Systems from TRW Inc. (NYSE:TRW - news) for $871 million in cash, making Delphi the world's No. 2 maker of diesel fuel injection systems for light- and medium-duty vehicles.

Delphi, the world's No. 1 auto supplier, said its new Delphi Diesel Systems will have annual revenues of about $1.1 billion. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and consultations with employee representatives, the company said.
