John,

Hmmm - sounds like you need a vendor to figure it out, but all in all your situation sounds serviceable.

I don't know what you mean by "SLC". Is your phone line mux'ed there now? In my case the box just has a rack of punch down connectors. If yours is too small, then merely suggest they replace it with a bigger box! (boxes are cheap). If so then there is already equipment in there, and thus maybe a chance to add or replace a piece of it with a ADSL gizmo.

What's in "the little house"? I understand that ADSL can work up to 18,000 ft, or 3.4 miles. Why can't your little house be a little CO?

FYI - this morning I found this very interesting tutorial. Among other things they state you only need 385KBS maximum for internet as this is the rate where you hit other upstream bottlenecks. More does you little good.

Remember the adage, "The squeaky wheel gets the grease". Like me you are challenged to "go forth and bother someone", your service providers :-)

Good luck,
Jeff
