Steve,

I didn't _hear 1st quarter numbers would be lower, I _read it. Anyone
else can too, by just pulling out the 4th quarter press release (or see
reply #27 in this thread). You will see there that they produced 135
mboe during 4th quarter. They then tell us in this latest release that
1st quarter production "is estimated at 130,000 boe". This taken together
with the lower O&G commodity prices in 1st quarter vs. 4th quarter says
that there is no way that 1st quarter numbers will be anywhere near as
good as 4th quarter numbers.

I listened in to the conference call too. Those things are of limited
usefullness. The more pertinent information is the stuff that's in print.

Amazingly, Ted Clark (Optima IR guy) had not even realized that they
had provided information that would lead one to conclude as I have that
1st quarter numbers would not be so hot. I called him today and he
mentioned my earlier post here, and asked the same question as you.

[Ted, if you are lurking (and I know you are), please correct me if any
part of the above analysis is wrong. I would bet you a buck (thats a $,
not a C$) that I'm right though. Feel free to respond here if you'd
like (I see other IR guys doing this -- see the Ultra Petroleum thread e.g.)]

I may not be all that great at picking O&G stocks to
invest in but one thing I know I can do well is read and understand
numbers --- I make a living doing that (I'm a CPA).

You may want to wait until 1st quarter gets announced before adding to
your position. I agree that the stock is undervalued too but it is
hard to see the price being higher after they announce the disappointing
1st quarter.
