Jody,

Maybe I am missing something. Just so everyone can make up their own mind, I am referring to the most recent SEC filing (Form 424B4 filed on 11/18/99). This form is available through both freeedgar.com and nasdaq.com as an electronic document.

If you look at that form, specifically the "Summary Financial Data" section on page 8, you will find a table for net revenues from 1994 ($5.4B) to 1999 ($5.8B). In the intervening years, you will see that there were greater revenues in 5 of the 7 years. The figures listed in HP's earnings release appear to be from the section "Recent Development" on the next page. That shows a quarter to quarter comparison (1999 vs. 1998) on net revenue of 23.2%, but a year to year comparison of 4.8%.

I encourage everyone to take a look at these figures and let me know what you think. The main limitation on the estimates is that since Agilent did not exist in those years, they would not necessarily predict performance as an independent company.

George D.
