cbs.marketwatch.com The judge clearly wants settlement and wants all parties to act fast. I think he felt he needed a strong FOF to get MSFT to settle. I think he risked the potential appeals court's feeling of being biased at lower court for the sake of steering MSFT to settle. Last Thursday he told states and DOJ that you guys are divided and go work with MSFT with a MSFT favorable appeals judge to settle it out.
