>Wonder how hard it would be to make a silencer for a 7mm mag.<

Hehe. Funny, Ish. Reminds me of a time awhile back. I was in a meeting when I get a "very important" call. It was my son calling from home. Turns out he had spotted a ten pointer in our back yard and was wondering if it would be legal for him to go out and "take him." I'm on the phone, everyone waiting for me, and I, trying to act serious, am saying to my son "No. I don't think that would work well at all. Perhaps we might discuss an alternative plan later." The kid was so excited, "ALTERNATIVE pl-- Dad, he's RIGHT THERE!" Funny kid.

>Best eating deer I ever had was a buck that dressed out 227 pounds.<

That was no deer, Ish. You were eating horse meat.

>Lots more useable meat on the bigger bucks than say on a doe that dresses out at 150.<

Indeed.

>Better flavor and texture too. Best eating venison came off a big bull moose a friend got.<

If I get time, I will head north for moose. Probably will have to wait until next year.

>I hate skinning squirrels. The meat wants to peel off with the skin.<

Actually it depends on how you do it. Once I get it started, I can pull the skin off in one motion, quick and clean as a whistle. But it is a lot of work for so little meat.

>If it ever gets cold I may take my Kate dog down to the timber and let her harvest some rabbits and squirrels for the table. With her I don't need a gun.<

Well some of us don't have the benefit of your Kate dog (grin). Unlike you we must suffer out there in the woods, struggling for our sustenance. I would love to see your dog in action though. Sounds like quite a keeper.
