I understand that with the recent announcement of eDirectory that NDSv8 is on a past version of NDS. I dont know - but for some reason that thought surprised me. Not that is was a bad thought, just it surprised me.

I think that Novell must really get on its horse now and put the screws to the OS/platform OEMs to integrate their OSes to the eDirectory. They should also focus some of the development, consultant, and even its Wittman Hart interests to help these OEMs develop clean/smooth interfaces.

The integration architects like myself are actually seeing eyebrows of our customers start to rise with the capabilities and successes of Novell's NDS, BUT, they are now asking serious questions that they need answers for. Does Novell's SSO solution work with MVS & RACF, HP-UX, AIX, AS/400, etc.

These are the true Enterprise mission critical systems that if NDS could integrate with - the customers would clearly see the differentiation between NDS and Active Directory.

I love Novell's progress BUT with the impending MSFT AD only a few short months away (maybe), Novell simply cannot move fast enough to widen the gap between it and the infant of DS - MSFT AD. These platforms must be addressed. MUST
