Thanks for the link to the JDSU conference call. JDSU has grown to my third largest holding behind QCOM and CSCO. The growth in WDM requirements over the next 5 years is astounding. JDSU is the only company to combine the full range of both passive and active optical components into modules. I suspect that their lead is insurmountable. They are 50% larger than the total of their competitors.

I realize there are additional factors to demonstrate gorillahood, but I suspect JDSU is closing in on that. George Gilder calls JDSU, the "Intel" of the telecosm. He sees it as the company that will create photonic module standards in much the same way that Intel did in microprocessors.

The drive for bandwidth is immediately upon us. These modules represent the enabling technology for the optical fiber explosion. Well, enough cheerleading for today.
