Hello PJ,

It's fun ... I look at it as an alternative to contract law ... a set of definitions, then the core procedure, and a lot of exception handling! ;-)

I know that people are going to freak over this ... but I would have to ask what you are really intending to write? I usually suggest that the "casual" Windows developer focus instead on Visual Basic. I see if far more powerful to the average developer ... and becoming more so.

On the C/C++ front, I would have to ask what you want to learn that for? I still use C to write NLMs ... but Java (and JavaBeans) is a "better" learning tool.

It all comes down to "what do you want to write, and for what platforms?" ... that's the real question ...

These *are* very cool ... and the two predominant platforms seem to be the Pilot (and Visor running Pilot OS) and the Symbian platform (EPOCH) ... EPOCH is supposed to run Java apps also ...

The one draw back that I've seen with the visor is the limit of one module at a time ... you list a lot of possible cards, but how do I have my GPS, Cell Phone, Pager, and Cable Tester all working at the same time? (While listening to my MP3s for background music!) ;-)
