I confirmed that as of this morning, both of the sites you mentioned, etoys.com and toysrus.com are showing that Elmo In Grouchland is out of stock. If I get a chance I am going to call the company to get more information on this. If demand is outstripping the level that had been anticipated - I would say that is a good thing.
