I had similar feelings that MSFT won't settle until
recently. But after appointment fo Posner, I think
otherwise.

I think Posner will lean heavily towards MSFT. He will
say MSFT hasn't harmed consumers and actually benefited.
He will say MSFT should have ability to invent, integrate
and bundle, etc..

The States and DOJ may be divided already. They will
relaize that it is better to settle when they agree to
at least some extent. Who knows after the elections.
The players and personalities, agendas, biases change
after Year 2000 elections. States and DOJ will have a
weaker hand after elections. Especially if Bush wins.

Go back to 95 when MSFT settled with the govt. Same
might happen. It will be a settlement that involves a
small slap in hand - such as I won't do XYZ inb my biz
practice.

Anyway I look at it, MSFT is about 30% discount to where
it should be, now.
