Dale.

I have been busy with several projects this week...so that I have
not been able to speak to Newmont this week....however, as soon as I do, I shall ask about their development plans for several recently acquired properties world wide...and state-side....

Just found this press release today....Have you seen it?

LIMA, April 15 (Reuter) - Peru's government sees the country's
mined gold output this year at 65 tonnes, unchanged from 1996, Prime Minister Alberto Pandolfi said late Monday.

Output, which rose 12.2 percent last year, would probably climb to above 90 tonnes a year by 2000, the minister added in a speech to businessmen on investments in the mining sector.

Pandolfi gave no explanation as to why gold production would remain flat in 1997.

Output is expected to gradually rise in coming years as some major new deposits become production units.

Peru is Latin America's second largest gold producer after Brazil and the 12th largest in the world. The country's largest gold producer is Minera Yanacocha SA, a joint venture owned by Newmont Mining Co <NEM.N> and Peru's leading miner Buenaventura <BUE.LM>.
