[DMT vs CrAP]

Hi j.

> How do the numbers change (theoretically) when you
go to RADSL CAP?

The Paradyne data was on the new RADSL CAP. They've played around with their system to increase the upstream bandwidth from the original 64kbps plus they copied the original rate adaptive features from DMT. So there is a new set of trade offs just waiting for the RBOCs to stumble on. Here again is yet another great example of why standards are important. This reminds me of the PC market place where until the advent of WinNT and Intel's PCI bus, my machines had to be rebooted at least 4 times a day due to who knows what.

more CAP systems?

Well, from the data you saw the results from an infinitely complex CAP system. Infinity is a really big number. And not even close to infinity is still a pretty dammed big number. So its all going to boil down to DSP MIPs and power consumption. When its all said and done, the real DMT system out performs.

j,
I'll try to deal with your other questions at another time when I'm not so tired and I have some spare
time.
