Everyone knows that Nov.-Apr. are the best months to be in the market. Everybody was on the sidelines in Sep.-Oct. waiting for the crash that never happened. Now billions of $$ are flowing back into the market. The NASDAQ usually trades over a billion shares/day. Many people are deciding to manage their $$ themselves through online brokers which are reporting record acct. growth.

All of the above paints a positive picture for the OLB's. The one negative I see is rates backing up to 6.2% but the effect on the market has been increased volatility which is GOOD for the OLB's. If the increase in rates caused $ to move to the sidelines I could see why OLB's would be down but this hasn't happened. In fact, in Jan I expect billions more to come flying into the market. So I just don't see trading volume decreasing any time soon.

So my question is: Why are the OLB's still 50% off their highs at the same time that trading volume is far above where it was at the time of their highs?

Are we going to have to wait for banks, insurance co's and other brokers to come in and start consolidating this group before they move higher?
Thanks,
Lee
