Wednesday November 24 8:18 AM ET Digital River, Egghead in Software Sales Deal MINNEAPOLIS (Reuters) - Digital River Inc. (NasdaqNM:DRIV - news), which provides technology to retailers selling software over the Internet, will handle all online software sales for Egghead.com Inc. (NasdaqNM:EGGS - news), Digital River said on Wednesday. Previously Digital River managed software downloads for Onsale.com, which is Egghead's auction site that sells excess and closeout goods and services. Digital River also has managed online promotions for Egghead since July. Egghead, which sells software over the Internet, also sells new and surplus computer products, consumer electronics, sporting goods and vacation packages. In early October, Digital River struck a deal with Staples Inc. (NasdaqNM:SPLS - news) to provide software delivery to customers of Staples.com.
